Each student had to pick out a famous person in history that they wanted to research. Maya picked Elizabeth Blackwell; the first woman doctor. (I think the deciding factor was that in some of the pictures we saw of her in her younger years she had red hair!) The students wrote news reports on the person and their accomplishments, created a poster about their person, and then they all dressed up in the character for their presentation.
Each student holding their electronic device, standing still as parents, teachers, and students from school went through the museum.
Maya's teacher also participated and she was Dolley Madison. Super fancy!
Here is the whole class! Everyone did such a great job and really got into the project!
Here you can see some of the people; Thomas Jefferson, Amelia Earhart, Annie Oakley,
Jackie Robinson, Jacqueline Kennedy,
Albert Einstein, Anne Frank, Dr. Seuss.
What a fun project that the 3rd graders worked so hard on!
