Maya has been looking forward to this day for a very long time! Her friends have been losing teeth all year and she really wanted it to happen while she was still in school but that wasn't the case. But for the last month she's had a few wiggly teeth on the bottom. Last week when we were on the way to gymnastics she said mom I think my bottom tooth is going to come out. I said well lets not pull it out until we get home. It was bloody and hanging on by a thread but it made it until we got home. To be honest I'm not a big fan of the whole losing/pulling teeth. I always said we'd let Daddy be the one to do the pulling...well he tried (apparently not very hard) and it didn't come out. But Maya really really wanted it to come out so I took a kleenex and grabbed it and pulled it out. I can't believe we are at this stage of the game with this little lady. She is thrilled!

Malone Park
Emma was visiting last weekend and we all went to a super new fun park which is pretty close to our house. It's called Malone park and it was designed to be an all inclusive all accessible playground. So children and adults of all different abilities can enjoy it. It's completely wheelchair-accessible and there are components included for people with visual, hearing, developmental, emotional, and social impairments. Needless to say it's one of the best parks we've been to and the girls loved it! We've already been back to it this week and are so thankful for such a great public park to be able to go play at.
There are also high and low monkey bars that Maya spent lots of time on. She was excited because she could actually reach the low ones and do all sorts of fun tricks on them. These girls are pretty lucky to have such a fun place to go play!
First we checked out all the swings. There are several different types of swings at the park.
Here they are on the normal big kid swings.
Super fun round swing you can lay on or sit up on.
This is the best invention ever...a baby swing with an adult swing attached so you can swing together facing each other. So fun!
Bouncy bright colored mushrooms to jump on
Slides to go down. Love this picture of Emma and Maya!
Can you spot Maya's head peaking out?
The bright colored accessible marry-go-round is in ground so anyone can get on it and have lots of fun going around in circles.
This was another big hit at the park and I don't even know what you call it. The grey tubes spin around and glide you right through the tunnel.

Target
While Maya has been at her many camps this summer Cora and I have had many opportunities to run errands, play at parks, and just hang out around the house together.
To say we've been to Target every other day may be an under statement.

4th of July Weekend in MI
We headed to Michigan for the 4th of July weekend. Getting there last week Friday was a bit dicey to say the least but we made it! Saturday Joel headed to his all time favorite motocross race of the season and I stayed in Holland with the girls. We went to a cute little church festival in the morning and the girls had a blast.
We had a visit to Kilwin's to see Juliana working. She treated the girls to some ice cream. So sweet of her! She is finishing up her time there at the end of the month to get ready to go to college. This was probably our last time to go visit her there while she is working behind the counter. The girls are going to miss seeing her there!
Monday we headed to the Grandville parade and the girls got lots of candy there too. Then we grilled out and played lots and lots of "corn hole." The girls love that game! We had a few fires in the backyard at the Dykstra's over the weekend and said good bye to their lovely house there. We've had so many wonderful times there over the last 14 years. The movers came on Tuesday to pack them up and they move to Palos Heights, IL in just a few days. We are excited for this new chapter in the life of their family. And we are looking forward to having them a bit closer to us as well!
There was a petting zoo. They always think they like pets and animals but really not so much.
There was a little train ride around the festival but Cora wasn't a bit interested.
Cora was into the games and getting candy for "winning"
Digging for Candy and Pennies - she had 20 seconds to find as much as she could
Bean bag toss - both girls actually got a lot in!
Face painting... Maya wanted a rainbow her standard
Cora wanted to be a kitty cat

We went to the beach on Sunday. So fun! The weather was perfect!
