Dig Deep

Our church is currently raising funds to provide some well drilling equipment to Mozambique. Safe and accessible water for consumption and sanitation is an area of great need in Mozambique. This equipment will help provide safe irrigation and drinking water to local farmers and their communities. Today after church we could choose to walk a 4, 2, or 1 mile route to represent how far people in areas of Africa often have to travel to obtain safe drinking water. We handed out bottles of water in the neighborhood adjacent to the church with a note explaining the project which is called Dig Deep.

We decided to do the 2 mile route. Although we cannot even begin to compare what's it's like we did have a little lady that ran out of steam on the walk. Joel had to carry her about the last half of the walk. We joked that it was like carrying an actual 35 lb. jug of water on his back.

We are excited to see how the Dig Deep project progresses and hope to be able to provide the well drilling equipment within the next few months.
